James Walker received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Swansea University in 2011. In 2012 he received a Master’s degree in Data Visualization from Swansea University. He is now a PhD candidate in the Visual and Interactive Computing group at Swansea University, under the supervision of Prof Mark Jones. His research interests include data mining and knowledge discovery, information visualisation, and visual analytics.

Mark W. Jones is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Swansea University, Wales. He is currently director of the Visual Computing Group and his research interests include global illumination, visualisation, volume graphics and associated algorithms and data structures.

Rory Wilson a professor at Swansea University, has been creating and working with animal-attached technology for over 30 years, particularly working with seabirds, most notably penguins. His research interests extend to how wild animals modulate the energetic costs for activities (including incidences, extents and intensities of activities) according to their environment and especially how animals manage their time and energy to forage most effectively. Rory Wilson was awarded a Rolex Award for Enterprise in 2006 to support the development and testing of his unique tagging concepts. He has published over 300 journal articles, and has an H-index of 54.

Hannah Williams is a PhD candidate in Biological Sciences, under the supervision of Dr Emily Shepard at the Swansea Lab for Animal Movement, Swansea University. Her research interests include the behavioural ecology of social species, but specifically how we can use bio-logging devices and visualisation software to gain novel insights into animal behaviour. Having focused on social behaviour, foraging strategies and migration in past studies, she is now combining her interests to study the movement ecology of soaring species.

Emily Shepard is a lecturer in the Department of Biosciences at Swansea University, Wales. She is currently interested in the mechanisms underlying animal movement and distributions, in particular, the movement of flying animals.
